Indiana Medical Record Retention Law:
Ind. Code s.16-39-7-1 and s.16-39-7-2
- Adult patients: At least 7 years.
- Patients who were minors: No separate minors period in this statute.
- The retention period runs from: As provided by IC 16-39-7-1.
- X-ray film: at least 5 years (IC 16-39-7-2).
- Violation is a disciplinary offence before the provider's own licensing board.
